I believe...in minimal homework
READING:
The most important thing your student should be doing is reading. In third grade your student is no longer learning to read, they're expected to be reading to learn. If your student isn't reading at home then they aren't reading enough.
We will be checking out library books weekly and I expect one chapter book a week to be read. Of course this is at your child's independent reading level so they should be fully capable.
Assignments will be determined on an as needed basis for all students.
Math Fact Practice is very important, it will really help your student succeed this year.

- Talk to your student about books they're reading
- Discuss main characters, setting, problem, solution etc
- Do they like the book? Why or why not?
- Can they relate what they're reading to their lives? Can they make any connections?
